Nickie Aiken MP speaks out for pedicab regulation

Tuesday, 16 November, 2021

MP for the Cities of London & Westminster, Nickie Aiken, led the Pedicabs Debate in Westminster Hall.

Pedicabs remain the only form of public transportation to have no regulation in London, and I have been campaigning to change this. We must ensure they are safe for both riders and passengers.

Nickie's Pedicabs (London) Bill will return for its Second Reading later in November, and she was pleased to hear that no matter the outcome, the Government acknowledges it is not acceptable for the Pedicab industry to be the only form of unregulated public transport in London and remains committed to seeking opportunities to put forward legislation.

Nickie is grateful to Rachel Maclean MP, Minister for Safeguarding, for responding and to Florence Eshalomi MP for supporting her debate.
