Throughout the pandemic I have seen how across the Two Cities, people have come together to support each other. Whether it was joining the Westminster Connects volunteer service or locals setting up the Square Mile Food Bank, during a very worrying time we have seen the very best of human nature and spirit thrive. It is an honour to represent you in Parliament.
I am aware of how badly the retail, hospitality and culture sectors have been affected. With the loss of the usual one million people coming into work and UK & international tourists not visiting central London, every day our businesses are taking a major hit. It is vital that we all support our local neighbourhood shops, restaurants, bars and cafés.
As we begin to return to our usual way of life I plan to be out and about much more. I will be holding public meetings in Westminster and in the City as well as regular street surgeries across the constituency.
I hope to meet you on my travels around the Two Cities. If you spot me, please do come and say hello. I wish you a happy and healthy summer.
