Securing girls’ education to at least 12 in developing countries is a particular interest of Nickie's. Nickie has spoken several times in the Commons on this subject.

Nickie continues to call on the Government to meet its target of 40 million more girls in school.

Nickie is working with NGOs and charities to highlight how girls’ education provides health, economic and societal benefits. Nickie has also met with the Minister twice to raise her concerns and those of people living in the Two Cities about the reduction by 0.2% in the aid budget.
